As much as I was a bit judging at the start of the movie, I was rather happy knowing that the movie had some sort of connection towards me. To be able to related to the kid made me watch the movie even more and have a few thoughts about it.
To start of, I'm not saying I have dyslexia, but I was also having a hard time with studies before. My mom was the same as the one in movie to bad mouth me whenever I fail in life. To be honest, I too have very low self esteem ever since. And upon knowing that the experiences I had with her influenced that, made me kind of sad to know that my own mother was partly the cause of it.
I'm not actually blaiming her right now, because deep in inside I know that I'm very much involved of it. Being so stubborn and disobedient, I've nothing to blame but myself. But to put that aside, I couldn't help but admire how lucky the kid was to have a teacher who also became his second parent at the same time. The teacher helped him in a lot of things, just because he knew it would do the kid some good.
For someone to guide every step and turn someone's life around, the teacher (or should I say saint) really desereved a pat on the back. The kid was simply lucky to have him present in his life. Even though he had rough times, everything was worth it until every last bit in the end.
Well, the main point/thing that made a huge impact in the movie for me was really to realize that all of us are geniuses and creatives in our own way. Someone might be good in math, another may not but we shouldn't even compare or weigh both as the same thing because they are most certainly not.
We shouldn't even blame anyone especially our parents and God Himself, if we don't have a certain talent or skill that we lact. I really think by now, everyone should've had the mindset that each and every human being in this world we live in are made unique. No one and nothing should be compared to anything. It just wouldn't be fair for everyone if we do.
To put it this way, let's say we have a scenario of a school with a class full of various animals. If they were tasked to climb a tree as a sort of test, how will you explain an elephant to do it? How will you explain a turtle to do it? And what about a fish? To actually compare us to animals is something very unusual and fictional yes, but comparing the system of the school and exam in the scenario is the same to us humans.
God may have created the sky to have stars to shine at night, but little do we realize that he made a world for us humans to shine on our own as well.
I really think everyone not just parents should watch the movie, and to actually see their reactions and opinions makes me curious to know what was in their minds. Little do they might realize that every child really is special. And I really believe this movie explained the whole point very well.
